Just hope the bears don't come home....

I feel like Goldilocks. Today I saw three houses.
House number one was too tiny and dark - and too expensive. All of the bedrooms were about 10x10 and no closets. It was a new house too. What were they thinking?
House number two had yet another skanky kitchen and a black toilet. I don't know about you, but I can't tell if a black toilet is clean and that just freaks me out. Besides, a 4-by-4 patch of stones does not qualify as a garden.
House number three was just right. Bigger than the one that fell through, more light, a breeze, super-nice kitchen, teeny but workable garden and best of all, from what I can tell, a really nice landlord. I started the day thinking I was going to be stuck in this apartment another month, driving our landlady (the best!) bonkers because I think she had a renter lined up already. Now, unless something else goes wrong, I think we'll have a home by the end of next week.
Someone sent me an email asking me not to judge all Costa Ricans by last week's disaster. Not to worry, as far as I can tell, that guy was a fluke. I think my chances of getting royally scammed were higher in Miami.
I can hardly wait to unpack.
