Never despair; but if you do, work on in despair.
- Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797)
I had a dream that one wall in the house should be a sort of chrysanthemum color.
Then, last week, a very nice Chinese lady at I met at while buying a rat-pup for my kid's snake told me that I should paint a wall in the house a bright, warm, welcoming color. A wall easily seen as you enter the house. She also said I should put two plants with red flowers on either side of the front door and suggested that I block the corners in the house so "the chi won't get stuck there".
An hour later, I was in Home Depot and as I walked through the paint department I glanced at the "oops" pile of paint cans. They usually consist of vulgar purples or greens or some disastrous grayish-brownish color. That day however, I found a can of Behr premium plus flat interior in a bright, warm shade of...Chrysanthemum. I immediately went to the outdoor section and picked up two little red-flowered plants for the front door.
Since then I've blocked the important corners in the house according to a feng-shui site I found. I've had three calls and one visitor. Tomorrow another is scheduled to see the house.
This may all be nonsense, but it's keeping me going right now and that's what I need. Too many days without anyone calling or coming to see the house and panic sets in and I begin to buy ice cream by the pint and rolls of cookie dough that will never see an oven...just a vaguely panicked woman with a big spoon. I need all the hope I can get.
