19, MAY 2006

This morning I started my new "destressing" regimen - a little yoga and a long walk. I need practical ways to destress. My late dinner last night, a huge slice of coconut cream pie with a 10mg Valium chaser, did absolutely zip for my stress level.
The good news is that the packing is moving a bit faster now, thanks to Kenny at Kinko's and his daily supply of heavy duty cardboard boxes. I know I said the movers are going to do the packing, but I can't show this house with the master bedroom ringed with towers of books. It looks like Stonehenge. We're also weeding our CD collection. Maybe by the time the Great Purge is over, we'll be down to only 1000.
Unfortunately, as the house is de-cluttered, I'm beginning to realize just how much I really do need a housekeeper. My policy of "why should I lift that to vacuum under it if no one is going to lift it to check" makes for some scary surprises when I finally do move something...YUCK.
1_1 Ooooh, one more thing, I think I may be close to selling the Boat from Hell! (see photo, left) Nice lady from down the street seemed very interested in buying it for her house in the Keys. I chatted her up and encouraged her to think about it, make an offer, come back next week for the garage sale. Her mom seemed interested in the Saturn (our car). Is it too much to hope that this could all go smoothly AND quickly?
